Information for Patients with Iowa Medicaid

Iowa Medicaid provides services for women during pregnancy, postpartum, and for infants under the age of 1. Once a pregnant person is determined Medicaid eligible, that person stays eligible regardless of any change in her circumstances throughout pregnancy and during postpartum coverage. Effective January 1, 2025, there will be some changes including:

Coverage Changes

• Postpartum coverage extended from 60 days to 12 months after childbirth
• Pregnant Women Federal Poverty Level (FPL) limit updated to 215%
• Infants under 1 are eligible until age 1 if mother was enrolled in Iowa Medicaid at birth (FPL limit up to 302%)
