Cass County Coalition on Mental Wellness

Cass County Coalition for Mental Wellness

The Cass County Coalition for Mental Wellness is a community-driven group focused on improving mental health awareness, support, and access to resources throughout Cass County. The coalition brings together local schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, nonprofits, businesses, faith organizations, and community members who share a common goal: creating a healthier, more connected, and more supportive community for all.

Our coalition works to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health while promoting prevention, education, and early intervention. Through collaboration and partnership, we strive to identify gaps in services, strengthen local resources, and support programs that improve the overall well-being of individuals and families across Cass County.

What We Focus On

  • Mental health awareness and education
  • Suicide prevention efforts
  • Youth mental wellness initiatives
  • Community collaboration and resource sharing
  • Family support and crisis navigation
  • Advocacy for accessible behavioral health services
  • Building stronger connections between organizations and community members

Community Collaboration

The coalition believes that mental wellness is everyone’s responsibility. By bringing together organizations and individuals from across the county, we can work collectively to create lasting change and improve quality of life for all residents.

One of the coalition’s most recent collaborative projects has been securing funding to support the implementation of the Hope Squad program in all three Cass County school districts. Hope Squad is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention and mental wellness program that empowers students to recognize when their peers may be struggling and connect them with trusted adults and support systems. This initiative reflects the coalition’s continued commitment to supporting youth mental wellness and building a culture of connection and support within our schools.

Whether it’s supporting youth programs, hosting community conversations, promoting available resources, or identifying emerging needs, the coalition is committed to building a stronger and healthier Cass County.
