Pain ManagementMark McClanahan, CRNA, NSPM-C provides pain management care in the Cass Health Specialty Clinic and is affiliated with Heartland Pain Management. He is double board certified in anesthesia and pain management and specializes in non-opioid, minimally invasive treatments for chronic neck, low back, and joint pain, as well as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
Mark focuses on identifying the underlying source of pain and creating personalized treatment plans that restore function, reduce discomfort, and improve quality of life. He treats a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, back pain, chronic migraines and headaches, musculoskeletal pain, neuropathy, and other chronic pain disorders.
His expertise includes image-guided spinal and joint injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, peripheral nerve procedures, and other advanced interventional pain management techniques tailored to each patient’s individual needs. He is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care that helps patients return to the activities they enjoy.
McClanahan has been a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist since 2002. He earned his Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Wayne State University, where he received the Agatha Hodgkins Award for Top Resident, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saginaw Valley State University. With more than 20 years of experience in anesthesia and pain management, he has served in clinical leadership roles throughout his career.
