Brett Altman, CEO, joined Cass Health in January 2017. Brett earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Buena Vista College, a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Iowa, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree from Temple University, and a second masters, an Executive Master of Business Administration degree, from Grand Canyon University. Brett is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, which is the highest standard of certification for healthcare management.
He served as the Director of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa, for 15 years until the hospital board of trustees appointed him interim CEO in 2009 while Skiff was undergoing a CEO search. Brett then served as Skiff’s Chief Operating Officer for over 4 years and the hospital’s President & CEO for nearly 3 years.
Brett is a Licensed Physical Therapist, Orthopaedic Certified Specialist, Sports Certified Specialist, Certified & Licensed Athletic Trainer, and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.
Brett’s honors include being named Sports Medicine Professional of the Year, Appointment to the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness & Nutrition, and receiving the Olive Farr Award, which is the highest honor bestowed on a member of the Iowa Physical Therapy Association. He was selected to serve as a member of the US medical delegation at the 2003 Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic, the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, and has traveled extensively with the USA Triathlon team. He is a past President of the Iowa Physical Therapy Association. Brett is on the Advisory Council of the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative, the Iowa Hospital Association ServiShare board, serves on the CADCO board, and is a member of the Atlantic Rotary.
