Parents as Teachers

Parenting can be hard. Parents as Teachers can help!

Parents as Teachers is a home visiting program, free for parents who are pregnant or have children up to kindergarten entry. Parent-child interaction, child developmental screenings and social-emotional screenings, parenting education, and group connections are provided as part of the program.

Personal Visits
During your visit, your parent educator will share age-appropriate child development and parenting information, help you learn to observe your child, and address your parenting concerns.

Group Connections
Once a month, a local group of parents and children get together to talk about parenting issues and child development. Parents learn and support each other, observe their children with other children and practice parenting skills.

Screenings
Your parent educator will help assess your child's overall development as well as health, hearing and vision.

Resource Network
If there are community services that could benefit your family, your parent educator will link your family to those services.

Books
Parents as Teachers has a large library of children’s books. You’ll be able to check out books from our traveling library that will match your child’s age and interests.
