According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, 40% of businesses fail following a disaster and an additional 25% fail within one year. In spite of these facts, most businesses lack an effective business continuity plan or even an emergency action plan.
Safeguard Iowa Partnership invites you to attend a free Business Continuity Workshop on Friday, November 15 from 8:00am – 12:00pm. The workshop will be held at Cass County Health System in Conference Room 2. Registration is required and limited to 50 participants.
In many cases, the thought of putting together a business continuity plan is overwhelming. During this workshop, you will be provided with tools you can use to help complete a hazard/vulnerability analysis that will give you insight into the threats that exist for your organization, assistance in the assessment of how these threats may affect your mission, and the development of your own framework for a business continuity plan. This risk management approach allows you to examine all areas of threat, vulnerability, and consequence analysis required for the physical security of your organization and walk away with a foundation for your planning needs.
We will also provide you the opportunity to speak with emergency management, law enforcement, and other emergency response professionals to ensure that you have the proper input into your plan development. Please plan to bring a laptop to the workshop as electronic tools will be provided for your use.
This workshop is being hosted by Cass County Health System and is being offered at no cost to attendees thanks to the Safeguard Iowa Partnership.
