Quality Ratings: Understanding Your Choices

Choosing the right partner for your healthcare needs is a personal choice.

If you or a loved one needs to find the right fit for home health, nursing homes, or inpatient rehab centers, then it helps to have information and opinions from sources you trust. We encourage you to talk with friends, neighbors, and others in your community about the facilities that are close to home and meet your needs. If possible, try to schedule an in-person visit to see the facility and meet the staff.

Additionally, Medicare.gov/care-compare is an online tool where you can find information and quality rating scores for healthcare facilities.

Each facility has an overall rating (zero to five stars) that is based on their performance in three areas: health inspections, staffing, and quality measures.

Our Care Coordination team is happy to answer your questions or to talk with you about the quality ratings data so that you have the information you need to make the decision that's best for you.
