AMC Flu Vaccine Update
October 11, 2018For Immediate Release
ATLANTIC – Officials at Atlantic Medical Center have announced they are temporarily out of high dose flu vaccine, which is recommended for patients age 65 and older. According to Beth Spieker, CCHS Clinic Administrator, the disruption is due to a high turnout for flu vaccines this fall. “We have had an overwhelming response from people who want to get their flu vaccines early this year—which is great!” she said. “We have another order of the high dose vaccine on the way and plan to resume high dose flu vaccination November 1.” Spieker emphasized this temporary outage is only the high dose vaccine recommend for seniors. All other vaccine types are currently available, and patients can stop in any time for a flu vaccination. Atlantic Medical Center is offering several flu vaccination clinics outside normal business hours to make it more convenient for everyone to protect themselves and their community from the flu.
