2020 Campaign

CCHS Foundation 2020 Campaign

Fred Rogers once said, “When I was a boy, and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”

Here in Cass County, you don’t have to look very far to see helpers. Often, one of the places we turn to first when we need help is our local hospital — a building that is filled with helpers, who also are our neighbors, family, and friends.

The essence of our mission is to support the caregivers at Cass County Health System. Their slogan is “Neighbors Caring for Neighbors.” And that’s what they are. They are here for all of us 24/7 and 365 days a year, to help us on our worst days and our very best.

As the Cass County Health System Foundation Board of Directors, we are passionate about the work they do. We also think it’s fair and neighborly of all of us to take time to give thanks and give back, and we ask you to join us by supporting our 2020 Campaign.

Our foundation relies on donations from helpful, caring, and hardworking people just like you. Your gift this year will go towards the purchase of a C-Arm. Simply put, a C-Arm is a mobile x-ray machine that can provide real-time imaging during surgeries and procedures. A technologist from our Diagnostic Imaging department will operate the equipment collaboratively with our surgeons, radiologists, and pain management providers.

“We really appreciate that the CCHS Foundation has agreed to help us with this key piece of machinery that we use daily in the OR. Purchasing this C-arm will allow us to do more cases and work in two different operating rooms. Any hip fracture, other fractures, pain procedures…there are so many things we can use it for, and we use it for a live x-ray—we don’t have to wait. For the patient, too, it lessens the risk of infection, speeds recovery, and makes the overall experience better. For example, in some hip fractures, we used to make an 8-inch incision. Now, with the use of a C-Arm, we make three very small incisions that heal up quickly,” said Dr. Matt Weresh, Orthopedic Surgeon.

Any gift is meaningful and will be put to good use right here in our community. Your gift will help purchase equipment that will improve the health and lives of your neighbors, which means that by participating in this campaign, you too become one of the helpers that others seek during challenging times.

Won’t you be our neighbor? Please help by donating today.

On behalf of everyone at CCHS, we offer our most sincere thanks for your generous support.
