Cass County Memorial Hospital

Cass County Memorial Hospital

Serving patients since 1968

With care and compassion, our nursing staff serves patients of all ages with varied medical needs. The experienced RNs, LPNs and CNAs provide a full-spectrum of inpatient care, paying special attention to each patient's individual medical and service needs. The 25 private inpatient rooms include: four intensive care rooms, four locked and dedicated obstetric rooms, and 17 medical/surgical rooms. Each room has a private bath with shower, and most provide sleeping space for loved ones that may want to stay overnight.

Inpatient Services

Inpatient services regularly consult with other departments in house to provide the best possible outcomes for patients. Those departments include physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, clinical dietetics, podiatry, general surgery, cardiology, and other depending on patient needs. Members from each interdisciplinary team meet each weekday to discuss the plan of care for each patient so the entire team can provide the most outstanding care possible.

Hospitalists

Our certified nurse practitioners specialize in hospital medicine.  Hospitalists round with patients each morning and are available for quick response to changes in patients' needs throughout the day. They communicate regularly with admitting physicians to create a smooth transition from inpatient to outpatient care as patients discharge from the hospital.

Swing Bed Services

Swing Bed is a Medicare program that allows patients to receive skilled care services at Cass Health after acute hospital care is no longer needed, but the patient does need ongoing services that cannot easily be provided at home. This may be after surgery or an extended illness. The program is designed to assist patients in reaching their highest potential for health, safety and independence prior to returning home. Swing bed services may include physical therapy, IV medication therapy, wound care or other skilled care services.  Medicare requires patients have a qualifying 3-day inpatient stay before swing bed admission.

Care Coordination

Care Coordinators assist patients and their families in obtaining services they will need when they leave the hospital. Whether it be home medical equipment, in-home care, skilled care placement, or financial assistance -- our Care Coordinators are here to be sure every need is met, so patients maintain their health and safety after discharge from the hospital.
