Inpatient Unit /Medical-Surgical Nursing
With care and compasion, the CCMH nursing staff serve patients of all ages with varied medical needs. The experienced RNs, LPNs and CNAs provide general inpatient care while coordinating services from many other hospital departments. This well-rounded team of professionals provides a full-spectrum of inpatient care, paying special attention to each patient's individual medical and service needs.
Care Coordinators assist patients and their families in obtaining service they will need when they leave the hospital. Whether it be home medical equipment, in-home care, or financial assistance -- the CCMH Care Coordinators are there to be sure every need is met, so patients maintain their health and safety after discharge from the hospital.
Our Diagnostic Imaging Department uses the latest technology to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging. Open seven days a week, diagnostic imaging services are available on an outpatient, inpatient and emergency basis. Certified radiologic technologists provide the following services:
- General digital radiography
- Digital Mammography
- Breast biopsy
- Nuclear Medicine
- DEXA Bone Density
- 80-slice CT
- PET CT
- Mobile Stereotactic Imaging
The CCMH laboratory performs over 250,000 tests a year. The CCMH Laboratory has the distinction of consistently earning the prestigious College of American Pathologists Accreditation every year since the early 1980s.
Expectant mothers will find a continuum of loving care at CCMH to enhance their birthing experience. Experienced, highly-skilled, compassionate physicians and nurses provide outstanding care for mother and baby in our family-friendly, homey LDRP suites. Obstetric services include:
- All-in-one birthing rooms for labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum care
- Pain management, including epidurals, during labor
- Nurses trained in medical resuscitation
- Open visitation privileges for siblings and visitors
- Newborn-care education by staff nurses
- Certified Lactation Counselor
- Prenatal classes on site
Pet Therapists and their specially trained dogs visit CCMH on a monthly basis. Patients in all inpatient areas are given the option to spend time with these friendly pets. Pet therapy provides a unique environment for patients to feel safe and loved, while fondly recalling pets from their past. Pet therapists are trained volunteers; there is no charge for this service.
