Hospital Creates $24 Million Impact on Local Economy

Des Moines - Cass County Memorial Hospital generates 356 jobs that add $24 million to the county’s economy, according to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association. In addition, CCMH employees by themselves spend $5.3 million on retail sales and contribute $320,739 in state sales tax revenue.

“People are often surprised to learn how many people we employ and the size of our business,” noted Todd Hudspeth, CCMH CEO. “It takes a lot of patient care professionals to enable us to care for our community twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and even more staff behind the scenes.”
