CCMH Achieves Zero Pressure Ulcer Mark

Cass County Memorial Hospital has reached a significant milestone by going more than one year without any patient developing a nosocomial pressure ulcer or, more simply, a bed sore that develops while a patient is in the hospital. “This is quite a testament to all of our patient care staff and certified nurse aides in particular,” noted Kim Kopp, RN, CWOCN. “It is the aides who are responsible to monitor and relieve pressure on the skin by turning or repositioning patients in their beds every two hours and adjusting pressure points as needed.”
