Building Up Dads: Session Two

February 8, 2018

For Immediate Release

ATLANTIC – Cass County Public Health is hosting the second session of their 3-part parenting series just for dads and kids (up to age 18) called “Building Up Dads” on Saturday, February 24th.

Nancy Gibson, Parents as Teachers Coordinator, said that the topic for this session is communication. “In the parent-child relationship, good communication is really essential,” said Nancy.

Each session includes a meal, separate activities for dads and kids, and then time together. The series is free for families to participate in thanks to grants from Boost 4 Families and DECAT.

“We had a great turnout at our first session, and if you weren’t able to make the first one – that’s okay – you can still join us now,” said Nancy. “Our goal is to give dads the tools and confidence they need to be a great parent, while also giving them time to build their relationships with their children.”

As an added bonus, participants who attend all three sessions will have their name entered in a drawing for a free family zoo membership to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. The second session will be held at 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Nishna Valley Family YMCA. Please RSVP by February 22nd by calling 712-243-7475.
