Established January 1, 2000, Cass County Health System brings together medical providers, clinics and a hospital which have served Southwest Iowa for over 40 years to provide a well coordinated, comprehensive local healthcare system. Over 400 CCHS staff work together every day to fulfill the mission, vision and values of the organization as a whole:

CCMH is governed by a seven-member volunteer Board of Trustees.  Trustees are elected to six-year terms of service. Current members are:

Where we have been

When the 10-bed hospital opened in a large wood frame house on the corner of East 5th and Oak Streets in 1903, the founders could never have imagined what they had started!  Click here to learn the chain of events that created the transformation from those modest beginnings to the state-of-the-art medical facility caring for people from throughout Southwest Iowa.

 
 

Where we are going

Cass County Health System is about to embark on a $23.5 million addition and renovation project.  With a groudbreaking scheduled for March 2011, this project will complete the transformation from the original inpatient hospital that was built in 1968, to a current, multi-faceted healthcare facility designed to provide a wide-range of care with the latest technology and highly skilled staff.  Advances in medical knowledge and techniques over the last 40 years have shifted the focus of healthcare from inpatient to outpatient services.  Watch this space for construction updates!
